Graduation Eligibility

Prairie Valley School Division determines the criteria for student participation in graduation ceremonies at all PVSD schools. The criteria are as follows:

  • The student must be able to successfully earn 24 credits by the end of June of the graduation year.

  • Students have to pass certain courses such as English language arts, math and science in order to graduate with a Grade 12 program standing.

More information on requirements and planning can be found on PVSD's Graduation & Course Planning Page.

If students or families have any questions on graduation eligibility, please reach out to the Balcarres Community School Career Counselor.

Honoring Indigenous Culture

We are committed to ensuring our graduation activities are inclusive and respectful of Indigenous culture and traditions. We strongly value consultation with Indigenous partners, families, and communities to help reflect these important traditions in our celebrations.
