Extra Curricular at Balcarres Community School

At Balcarres Community School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. We support and encourage student participation in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to build community, develop leadership skills, and explore new interests. Extra Curricular activities are offered at Balcarres Community School based on student interest.

Athletics

Our athletic programs provide students with the opportunity to represent our school through various sports teams. These programs help students build physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Athletic activities are run by teachers or community volunteers. The Qu'Appelle Valley District Athletic Association supports the governance, organization, and officiating of our sports teams. The Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association is the governing provincial body and is charged with the role to set up high school provincial playoffs and championships. Athletic activities may be offered if the school has someone that is capable and willing to coach that activity and enough students to make up a team if a minimum number is required.

Student Leadership Council

The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a vital part of our school community. Supported and encouraged by the school division, the SLC provides a platform for students to develop leadership skills, organize school-wide events, and ensure student voices are heard in our community.

Student Clubs & Associations

We offer a diverse range of clubs and associations that are non-competitive and focused on student interests. All clubs and activities are open to every student who wishes to participate in an appropriate and respectful manner.
